Liberty Town Board declares lead agency for $24 million infrastructure expansion

NY LIBERTY — Liberty Town Board advances with $24 million water and sewer infrastructure expansion. Supervisor Frank DeMayo was authorized to submit a $4 million grant application through Senator Gillibrand's office for Swan Lake Sewer Plant by March 22, 2026. The Board declared itself lead agency for environmental review of the Harris Road infrastructure project, which includes 6,700 lineal feet of new sanitary force main, two new sanitary pump stations, and watermain upgrades connecting to the Village of Liberty wastewater treatment plant and the Town's Ferndale Water District.
The Town has already secured $20 million in FAST NY grants and $1 million from the EPA. The Board also approved $61,500 from the Swan Lake Sewer District Capital Reserve Fund for pump repairs, awarding the contract to Koester Associates at $61,484.82.
